December 2016 | A long weekend just before Winter Break was an opportunity to travel to Tsavo and Cyulu Hills National Parks. In Tsvao, we stayed at the Kamboyo House. In Chyulu Hills, we drove 30kms into the park to the base of ‘Satellite Camp’, where we had amazing views of the hills around us as well as the plains beneath us.

All packed and ready to go.

We watched this massive elephant for a long time at the watering hole outside the house.

Tsavo had an unusual amount of wild life around due to recent rains.

The last day was a wet morning. We huddled under the hatchback of Ben and Jilian’s car while making some breakfast.

It was a wet drive down from Chyulu Hills.

July 2016 | For the last few days of our summer break, Robyn, Zoë, my nephew Spencer and I did a trip the Masai Mara.

Packed up and ready to come home.

We set up camp in the middle of the plains, we couldn’t see anyone and could hear lions and hyena at night.

June 2016 | Zoë and I used the first four days of our Summer break to climb Mt Kenya. we went up and down the Chogoria Route, which was new for me. Zoë was a champ! She was far an away the youngest person we encountered on the Mountain, perhaps by a decade. We were also the only people hiking without a guide, though we did get fairly lost once!
