[November 3, 2019] Early in 2019, I won a lottery place at the NYC Marathon. On Friday November 1st, I flew to NYC, arriving at the expo to pick up my number 30 minutes before it closed on Saturday. I met up with Katie and stayed at her place in Brooklyn (thanks!). After running the next day, we headed to the craft breweries in the warehouse district of Queens, meeting many awesome people at many different places. The next day I met up with my sister for lunch (who was on an east coast visit) and then flew back to work. An extravagant but amazing experience!

I kept my phone in my hand for the entire 4 hours – taking selfies and movies.Spectators had great signs all along the way. My favorite, was ‘Welcome to Queens – now get the fuck out!’ (didn’t get a picture of that one)Done! 3:58After the marathon, I knew I would fall asleep for good if I went back to Katie’s, so we headed out to the warehouse district in Queens and found some great small craft breweries.Fantastic small breweries in Queens.
The crowds were incredible. When you ran along the side and started high fiving spectators, they would go nuts!
